Facilities
Pool & outdoors
There’s no conventional hotel pool here – the star attraction is the Porto Moniz natural swimming pools directly in front of Aqua Natura Madeira Hotel. Carved out of volcanic rock and filled with clear seawater, they create sheltered spots for safe swimming and paddling while big Atlantic waves crash theatrically beyond the walls.
From the hotel it’s only a short stroll down to the pools and surrounding sunbathing areas, where you’ll find ladders, platforms and services such as cafés (seasonal; local charges may apply). For a more private soak, the hotel has a small whirlpool within its wellness area.
Spa, sports & wellness
Active travellers are well looked after. The compact but well-equipped gym features cardio machines, free weights, a stretching zone and fixed strength equipment, open roughly 08:00–20:00 (times can vary).
After a day exploring the levadas, unwind in the spa area with sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and whirlpool, or book a massage or beauty treatment for a supplement (minimum age for spa and gym is usually 12 years).
Other handy facilities include a 24-hour reception with concierge, luggage storage and a charging point for mobility scooters (local charges may apply).
