Regent Seven Seas Splendor: a floating 5 star hotel
Ultimate luxury is no longer on land alone. Regent Seven Seas, the most luxurious cruise company has a new gem: the Seven Seas Splendor. Last week the ship was delivered in Italy. Travelisto was invited on board sailing around Italy to enjoy all the luxury that the Splendor has to offer.
We were invited by Regent Seven Seas for the very first cruise of the brand new Seven Seas Splendor, and this exceeded our highest expectations. The ship itself consists of the most beautiful combinations of materials, structures and colors carefully coordinated with each other, of which marble, natural stone, brass and the most beautiful fabrics predominate. Every room has the WOW factor, really all facilities are present at the highest level.
An immersion of luxury in the broadest sense of the word. But outside of all aesthetic splendor, the most striking, most prominent and most important factor of this splendor feeling is the crew, dedicated, genuinely friendly and good-humored at all times. With passion for their profession and the greatest diligence to give you an unforgettable journey.
There are 375 suites on board from the 30sq ft Veranda suites to the astonishing 4,443sq ft Regent suite.
Every room will have a balcony and, while the entry-level rooms are worthy of plenty of column inches, it is this 14th-deck giant that stands out as a game-changer.
A 1,300sq ft wrap-around veranda and glass-enclosed solarium ensure there can’t possibly be a better vantage point on board, thanks to 270-degree views.
At any one time there will be a maximum of 750 passengers being looked after by 542 crew members. On board Seven Seas Splendor, you will find a variety of restaurants with a huge range of top-quality food including Compass Rose, Chartreuse, Pacific Rim, Prime 7 and Sette Mari at La Veranda.
There is also a chic café – Coffee Connection – for enjoying al fresco drinks and snacks, lots of entertainment with live music, an eclectic range of top-notch shows, and a casino with roulette, poker and slot machines.
For spa lovers, there’s the Canyon Ranch Spa Club, offering everything from customised aromatherapy to ayurvedic treatments.
Deck 11 has a pool, culinary arts kitchen, library, connoisseur club, card room and an observation lounge, while deck 12 is sports central with a running track and games such as shuffleboard, a golf net and a bocce court.
Elsewhere on board you’ll also find a gym, a beauty salon and the chance to enjoy trivia sessions, dance classes, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and fascinating lectures on topics from space exploration to geography.
The dusty image of a cruise that is still somewhat prevalent has been completely swept off the table by Regent Seven Seas with this ultimate experience on the water. It is not an exaggeration, it is indeed, perfectly luxurious.
