St Kitts and Nevis holidays
Two green volcanic islands, a UNESCO-listed fortress, plantation inns and quiet beaches — the Caribbean at a gentler pace.
Overview
Welcome to St Kitts and Nevis
St Kitts and Nevis is the smallest country in the Americas: two volcanic islands separated by a narrow channel, covered in rainforest and old sugar plantations. St Kitts, the larger island, has the dramatic Brimstone Hill Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with views across to neighbouring islands, the St Kitts Scenic Railway on the old sugar-cane line, rainforest hikes up Mount Liamuiga, and beaches on the south-east peninsula at Frigate Bay, South Friars and Cockleshell Bay.
Nevis, a short ferry ride away, is quieter still, a perfect cone-shaped island dominated by Nevis Peak. Its beautifully restored plantation inns, set in gardens on the hillsides, are some of the most charming places to stay in the Caribbean, and Pinney’s Beach has beach bars and calm water. Charlestown is the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Monkeys, hot springs, rum and fresh lobster are all part of island life.

Why we love St Kitts and Nevis
Split your stay: a beach hotel on St Kitts for Brimstone Hill and the railway, then a plantation inn on Nevis for complete peace. It is a lovely, gentle combination.
