You're strictly budget-led
Scenic's value-per-£ is excellent once you factor in everything-included, but the headline price is higher than mid-river lines. If the inclusives don't apply to you (you don't drink alcohol, etc.), Avalon or AmaWaterways may be better value.
You want a vibrant nightlife
River cruising is quiet by design. Scenic's lounges are well-designed but the rhythm is dinner-and-conversation, not nightclub. The Sky Bar above-deck is the social hub at sunset.
You're a young family
Scenic is adults-only on rivers. Families are welcome on Scenic Ocean (Eclipse-class) but there are no children's clubs. For family river, look at AmaWaterways themed family departures.
