Crystal

Reborn luxury icon — six-star service, two ships

The legendary luxury line is back. After a 2022 collapse and 2023 rescue by A&K Travel Group, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity sail again — fully refurbished, ultra-spacious, with the same crew traditions and white-glove service that made Crystal a perennial industry favourite for three decades.

Why book Crystal

Why a Crystal voyage?

Six reasons we recommend this line to the right kind of traveller.

Service that wins everything

Crystal won "World's Best Large-Ship Cruise Line" 25 times at the Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards before the 2022 pause. The reborn line has retained the same crew traditions and most-returning-loyal staff in the industry.

Genuine all-inclusive

All fine dining, all drinks (including premium wines and spirits), WiFi, gratuities, in-suite minibar replenishment, butler service for top suites. Nothing to sign for. Pre-paid excursions and Crystal Adventures are extra.

Spacious, all-suite reborn ships

Both Symphony and Serenity were stripped back and rebuilt 2023-24. Bigger suites, more single accommodation (Solo Sailor cabins added), redesigned spas, new specialty restaurants — Beefbar, Umi Uma by Nobu Matsuhisa, Osteria d'Ovidio.

World cruises are the calling card

Crystal pioneered the modern world cruise. The 2026/27 world voyage is 113 nights across 30 countries — and you can book individual segments from 7 nights up rather than commit to the entire circumnavigation.

The honest version

Might not be for you if…

No cruise line is for everyone. Here's where Crystal might not fit. We'll point you elsewhere if so.

You want a casual party vibe

Crystal is classic luxury — quieter ships, refined dining, dress codes for evenings. For party energy, Virgin Voyages or Royal Caribbean fit better.

You want a big-ship choice of activities

700 guests means a curated experience, not 20 restaurants and water parks. If you want sprawling choice, look at Royal Caribbean or NCL.

You're strictly UK-departure only

Crystal sails primarily from US, Caribbean, Mediterranean and global ports. UK-departure sailings are occasional. We arrange flights + hotels into the embarkation city as part of the package.

Dining

Six restaurants, three of them signature — and no surcharges

Crystal's reborn dining programme retained the line's legendary Waterside main restaurant and added a new generation of specialty venues — Umi Uma by Nobu Matsuhisa, Osteria d'Ovidio, and Beefbar (on Serenity). All restaurants are included in every fare; no surcharge to eat anywhere.

Waterside
The grand main dining room — open seating, refined classics, white-glove service.
Umi Uma by Nobu
Nobu Matsuhisa's signature Japanese-Peruvian — black cod miso, yellowtail jalapeño, the classics.
Osteria d'Ovidio
Italian fine dining — handmade pasta, regional menus that rotate by voyage.
Beefbar (Serenity)
Premium steakhouse — global beef, Wagyu, dry-aged cuts.
Marketplace
Casual all-day buffet at breakfast and lunch; themed dinners on selected nights.
Bistro & Palm Court
Light bites, afternoon tea with live string quartet, late-night snacks.

FAQ

Quick answers about Crystal

Is it still the same Crystal?
Largely yes — the ships are the same hulls (Crystal Symphony, Crystal Serenity), fully refurbished, with many returning crew. A&K Travel Group bought the brand and re-launched in 2023 with the same six-star ethos and many of the same loyal staff.
How is Crystal different from Regent or Silversea?
Crystal sits in the same all-inclusive luxury tier but with a slightly more classic, less aggressive feel. Regent includes all excursions; Crystal does not but pre-quotes them. Crystal historically had the strongest enrichment programme (guest lecturers, Yamaha music school) — that's being rebuilt now.
How long are typical voyages?
A week up to 100+ nights. Crystal's sweet spot is 10-21 night voyages with overnight ports, plus segment-bookable world cruises every winter season.
