Antalya coast or Marmaris?
The Antalya coast (Belek, Side, Alanya): long sandy beaches, big pools and the highest standards of all-inclusive, about four and a quarter hours from the UK. Marmaris and İçmeler: a pine-fringed bay with a lively promenade, boat trips and a more resort-town feel, reached via Dalaman in about four hours. Hisarönü: above Ölüdeniz and the Blue Lagoon.

When to go
May to October is the season. June and September are perfect for couples: hot, sunny days, warm sea and calmer resorts. July and August are very hot, often in the mid-30s °C, so a good pool and shade matter.

Take a gulet cruise along the coast, visit the ancient cities of Ephesus, Perge or Side, relax in a traditional hammam, take the cable car up Mount Tahtalı near Kemer, try paragliding over the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz, or spend a day in Antalya’s old town of Kaleiçi.
