Fiji Adventure: Hike, Raft, Snorkel & Village Stays – 8 Days
Sand dunes, rafting in the Navua Gorge, Suva, snorkelling and two nights in highland villages, in a small group of up to 12.
Tour overview
This 8-day small-group adventure shows a side of Fiji most visitors never see, from rainforest gorges to highland villages, with time on the coast to snorkel. Groups have no more than 12 travellers aged 15 and over, with a local leader throughout and village hosts and specialist guides along the way. You travel by private vehicle and 4×4, with a support vehicle carrying your luggage on hiking days, and stay in hotels, a resort, beachside cottages and two nights in village community halls. All breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners are included, along with an arrival transfer. The trip is land-only, starting and ending in Nadi.
From Nadi you head along the Coral Coast to the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park for a 4 km ranger-guided walk over dunes up to 60 m high. Two nights at Pacific Harbour include a day rafting through the Upper Navua Gorge, between volcanic walls draped in rainforest and waterfalls. In Suva, the capital, you visit the Fiji Museum and the municipal market and walk through the city with a local guide.

Heading north, you walk to the Savulelele waterfall at Nabalesere village before crossing to the small island of Nananu-i-Ra for a night in beachside cottages and a morning snorkelling over the reefs. The trip then climbs into the highlands. In Naga village you are welcomed with a traditional ceremony and spend the night in the community hall, and the next day you trek about 11 km across grasslands and along the Sigatoka River, with a swim along the way, to the remote village of Nubutautau. A village tour tells the story of the 19th century in the highlands before a 4×4 ride back to Nadi.
The physical rating is medium, with hiking, rafting and simple village stays with shared facilities. This trip suits active travellers who want to meet Fijian communities and see the island's interior, not just its beaches.

The physical rating is medium. The longest walk is about 11 km on Day 7, broken up with lunch and a swim. A support vehicle carries your luggage.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
