Prague, Vienna & Budapest with Flights – 8 Days
Three imperial capitals with flights, four-star hotels and a tour director, plus a Danube cruise in Budapest.
Tour overview
This 8-day escorted tour visits Central Europe's three great imperial capitals, Prague, Vienna and Budapest, with flights, four-star hotels and a tour director included. The price covers return flights from a choice of UK airports, transfers and comfortable coach travel, plus all local taxes. You stay seven nights on a bed and breakfast basis: three in Prague, two in Vienna and two in Budapest, with breakfast every day and plenty of time to choose your own restaurants and cafés. Optional excursions let you add more, from a Dresden day trip to a folklore dinner.
Your tour director meets you in Prague, one of Europe's most beautiful capitals, which survived the turbulent centuries remarkably intact. A guided walking tour takes you through the Old Town and across the Charles Bridge, with the option of an evening river cruise on the Vltava. The next day is free to explore the castle and Lesser Town at your own pace, or join an optional excursion to Dresden.

Leaving Prague, you head south through Bohemia, a rolling, romantic region of dense forests, medieval towns and hilltop castles, arriving in Vienna by early afternoon. You have time to explore the Ringstrasse, the Hofburg and the coffee houses, with an optional visit to Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburgs' imperial summer residence.
Crossing into Slovakia, you stop in Bratislava, delightfully set on the Danube, before continuing to Budapest. An introductory tour shows you the twin city: Buda, an elegant hillside town of grand buildings and castle walls, and Pest, the lively commercial heart. A cruise on the Danube shows off the Parliament and bridges from the water, and there is an optional folklore dinner and show.
The physical rating is low. This tour suits travellers who want to see Central Europe's highlights with flights and hotels arranged, and the freedom to explore each city at their own pace. With three nights in Prague and two each in Vienna and Budapest, there is time to settle into each city, and the optional excursions let you tailor the holiday to your own interests. Departures run from spring to autumn.
