Menorca is the Balearic island for people who want to slow down. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with very little high-rise development, a coastline of turquoise coves, and two of the most charming harbour towns in Spain: Georgian-tinged Mahón in the east and elegant Ciutadella in the west.
Here are ten of our highest-rated hotels on the island, from a five-star adults-only resort with private pools to boutique stays in Mahón and beachside family favourites, plus a guide to choosing where to stay.

Things to do in Menorca
Take a boat trip around Mahón’s huge natural harbour, stroll the old town and harbour of Ciutadella, walk a stretch of the Camí de Cavalls coastal path, swim in the south-coast coves of Macarella and Turqueta, and sample local cheese and gin. Menorca’s prehistoric talaiotic sites, scattered across the island, are fascinating too.
