Victoria Falls to Cape Town: Hwange, Winelands & Cape – 14 Days
Safari in a private Hwange concession, Victoria Falls, the Cape Winelands and Cape Town, with return flights from London.
Tour overview
This 14-day escorted tour combines a safari in Zimbabwe and the thundering Victoria Falls with the vineyards and coast of South Africa's Western Cape, with return flights from London included. A guide travels with the group throughout, and you stay 11 nights in hand-picked three- and four-star properties, with two nights on overnight flights. Transport is by air-conditioned coach, with 4×4 vehicles on safari and an included flight from Victoria Falls to Cape Town. Meals are a mix of breakfasts, lunches and dinners, with full board during the safari days.
After an overnight flight to Victoria Falls, you drive south to Hwange for three nights at a secluded lodge raised on stilts in a private concession on the edge of Hwange National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives look for herds of elephant, buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, and the big cats that follow them, with one drive inside the national park itself. You also hear an expert talk on anti-poaching and sundowners at a hide.

On the way to Victoria Falls you visit the Painted Dog Conservation Centre, which protects one of Africa's most endangered predators, and a local village. Three nights at Victoria Falls include a guided visit to the falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi with sundowners and a tour of the Victoria Falls Bridge, built in 1904, with free time for optional activities.
A flight takes you to Cape Town and on into the Winelands, where you stay two nights in Stellenbosch, ride the open-air Franschhoek Wine Tram, visit the Rickety Bridge wine estate and take a guided walk around the town's Cape Dutch streets. In Cape Town, a city tour visits the V&A Waterfront and the historic centre before an excursion up Table Mountain, and a full day explores the Cape Peninsula, from Chapman's Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope.
The physical rating is low. This tour suits travellers who want a comfortable first taste of southern Africa, with wildlife, one of the world's great waterfalls, wine and the Cape in a single trip. Your guide stays with the group all the way from Victoria Falls to Cape Town.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
