Botswana & Zimbabwe Safari with Flights: Chobe to Matobo – 14 Days
Chobe, Victoria Falls, a private Hwange concession and the granite Matobo Hills, in four- and five-star lodges with flights included.
Tour overview
This 14-day escorted safari combines Botswana's Chobe River, Victoria Falls and two of Zimbabwe's finest wildlife areas, staying in hand-picked four- and five-star lodges. Return flights from London Heathrow or Manchester are included, flying into Victoria Falls and home from Bulawayo, with a local tour representative throughout and expert guides on every excursion. You travel by air-conditioned coach, with open 4×4 vehicles for six game drives. Eleven nights are spent in lodges and hotels and two on overnight flights, with 11 breakfasts, five lunches and eight dinners, plus sundowners on selected activities.
The safari begins with three nights at Chobe Safari Lodge on the Chobe River in Botswana, with a morning and an afternoon game drive in Chobe National Park, home to vast elephant herds, and a sunset river cruise. Three nights at Victoria Falls follow, staying at the Palm River Hotel, with a guided visit to the falls, an evening cruise on the Zambezi and an interactive tour of the 1904 Victoria Falls Bridge, plus free time for optional activities such as a helicopter flight or high tea on Livingstone Island. The town is also known for its craft markets and cafés.

In Zimbabwe, three nights at Sable Valley Lodge in a private concession on the edge of Hwange National Park bring morning and afternoon game drives, underground hides at waterholes for eye-level views of elephants, a visit to a local village, the Painted Dog Conservation Centre and a game drive inside Hwange itself. Sundowners overlook the plains as the light fades.
The final two nights are at Amalinda Lodge, built into the granite boulders of the Matobo Hills. An anti-poaching talk, a guided bush walk with sundowners, a game drive in Matobo National Park, a refuge for rhinos, and a visit to San Bushman caves with ancient rock art complete the safari, before a transfer to Bulawayo for the flight home.
The physical rating is medium, with early starts and a bush walk. This safari suits travellers who want an in-depth, comfortable trip through several parks with all flights and logistics arranged. Your tour representative handles border crossings and transfers throughout.
