Tour overview
This 8-day escorted holiday is an easy way to discover Malta, with flights, half board and four included excursions, all from one hotel on the quieter side of St Paul's Bay. The price includes return flights from a choice of UK airports, airport transfers and comfortable coach travel, and a tour director meets you on arrival and leads the excursions. You stay seven nights at your chosen hotel in Qawra, with breakfast and dinner every day, and an upgraded hotel is available for a supplement.
Your first excursion explores the capital, Valletta, beginning with the Malta Experience, a lively audio-visual introduction to the island's history, before a guided walk through the city built by the Knights of St John, past its grand Baroque buildings and harbour viewpoints. The next day you take the short ferry from Ċirkewwa to Mġarr on Gozo, Malta's greener sister island, for a full day exploring its countryside, coast and capital, Victoria.

After a free day to enjoy the hotel and the seafront, you join fellow guests for an evening of traditional Maltese hospitality in Mosta. A full-day excursion then takes you inland to Mdina, the fortified former capital on its rocky bluff, known as the Silent City for its quiet streets, and to neighbouring Rabat and the huge domed church of Mosta.
After another free day, the final excursion takes you back in time across Valletta's Grand Harbour to the Three Cities of Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea, where medieval streets tell the island's story, followed by the colourful fishing village of Marsaxlokk and its painted boats.
The physical rating is low. This holiday suits travellers who want a relaxed week in the sun with a good mix of sightseeing and free time, and everything from flights to dinners arranged. A two-week version is also available for those who want longer to unwind. Qawra's seafront promenade, bars and restaurants are close to the hotel, and Malta's compact size and good buses make independent outings easy. Spring and autumn departures offer warm days that are ideal for sightseeing without the summer crowds.
