Andorra Family Adventure: Pyrenees Week for Teens – 8 Days
Seven nights in one chalet hotel in Soldeu, with hiking, biking, zip-lining and rafting for families with teenagers.
Tour overview
This 8-day family adventure is based in one small hotel in Soldeu, high in the Andorran Pyrenees, and is designed for families with children aged 10 and over. Groups have 2 to 16 travellers, with a leader throughout. Each day a private minibus takes you a short way into the mountains for a different activity, then brings you back to the same hotel, so there is no packing and unpacking. Seven breakfasts and four dinners are included.
The week starts gently in the Cortals Valley, riding the only flat off-road track in Andorra to Engolasters Lake. A treetop course of zip-lines and rope obstacles follows. Next comes the first guided hike, from a trailhead at 2,000 metres up to Salamandres Lake, named after the yellow-spotted salamanders that live there. Those with energy to spare can continue to Ransol Ridge at 2,500 metres for views across the Andorran peaks.

One day crosses into Spain over the Port del Cantó pass to Sort, for about 14 kilometres of white-water rafting on the Noguera Pallaresa, one of Europe's best-known rafting rivers. All equipment is provided, and afterwards you can relax in the rafting centre's garden and pool. The second hike leaves straight from the hotel along a forest trail into the Incles Valley and zig-zags up to Cabana Sorda Lake beneath a semicircle of rock, with time for a picnic lunch and a cold swim.
The bike day starts at Port d'Envalira, at 2,408 metres the highest road pass in the Pyrenees and a climb used in the Tour de France. You descend to Abelletes Lake on the French border and follow off-road tracks back down to Soldeu, about 20 kilometres in all, with a support vehicle if anyone wants to skip a climb. The last full day is free for horse riding, the La Caldea thermal baths, via ferrata, Family Park Canillo or a rest.
You stay all seven nights at Hotel Roc de Sant Miquel or similar, a family-run chalet with 12 en-suite rooms and free parking. The pace is active but flexible: groups can split by ability and anyone can sit out an activity. It suits active families with teenagers who want a week of outdoor adventure in the mountains, with the logistics, kit and guiding taken care of.

Frequently asked questions
How do I book this tour?
Tap any "Enquire" button on the page and one of our travel specialists will be in touch within 24 hours (often same day). We'll confirm availability on your preferred date, run through anything you need to know, and only ask for the deposit once you've decided.
What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.
What is the minimum age?
The minimum age is 10. Groups are 2 to 16 travellers.
How fit do we need to be?
A moderate level of fitness helps. Day 3 is about 12 to 15 kilometres with 650 metres of ascent and descent, and Day 5 about 15 kilometres with 700 metres of climbing. Everyone must be able to ride a bike, and groups may split by ability.
Is the rafting suitable for beginners and children?
Yes, the 14-kilometre stretch is beginner-friendly, but everyone who rafts must be a competent swimmer. Children aged 8 to 12 raft only Grade I–II water. Anyone who sits out can relax at the rafting centre.
Are flights included?
No. Most families fly to Barcelona or Toulouse. Transfers to Soldeu are not included, but a group transfer from Barcelona airport can be pre-booked.
How do we get to Soldeu?
A pre-bookable group transfer runs from Barcelona airport on Day 1 for flights landing before 11:30 am, and public buses from Barcelona and Toulouse stop outside the hotel. The drive is about 4 hours from Barcelona and up to 3.5 hours from Toulouse.
Can we drive ourselves?
Yes. Many families hire a car, and parking at the hotel is free for your stay.
Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
