Kassandra (Polichrono, Pefkohori, Afitos): pretty villages, lively tavernas and long beaches. Afitos is perched on a cliff with lovely views. Potidea: at the start of the Kassandra peninsula, with the shortest transfers. Sithonia: quieter and wilder, with beautiful coves.

June to September is beach season; June and September are ideal for couples. Flights to Thessaloniki take around three and a half hours from the UK, and Kassandra is about an hour to an hour and a half from the airport.
