City-break tips

Book timed tickets for the big sights (the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums, the Uffizi, the Sagrada Família and the Alhambra) well in advance. Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the best seasons; July and August can be very hot. Stay central so you can walk everywhere and take a break at the hotel during the hottest part of the day. Flights to all of these cities take around two to three hours from the UK.

How we chose these hotels

For each city we looked at every hotel we sell and chose one that our guests rate highly on TripAdvisor, with a central location or a standout feature such as a rooftop terrace. Every hotel can be booked with us as an ATOL-protected package with flights. Prices change daily, so use the search box at the end of this page, or ask a Travel Designer to plan a twin-city trip.
