Footsteps of the Incas & Galápagos Cruise with Flights – 22 Days
Arequipa, the Colca Canyon, Lake Titicaca, Machu Picchu, Quito and a four-night Galápagos cruise, with flights and home transfers.
Tour overview
This 22-day escorted tour is a comprehensive journey through southern Peru and Ecuador, ending with a four-night cruise in the Galápagos Islands. Return flights from London Heathrow are included, with regional flights, and a door-to-door chauffeur service takes you from home to the airport and back. A tour director travels with the group, with local guides throughout. You stay 15 nights in comfortable three- and four-star hotels and four nights on board ship in a junior suite cabin, with two nights on overnight flights, and 37 meals are included.
After a tour of Lima's colonial centre and the Larco Museum, with its fine pre-Columbian collections, you fly to Arequipa, the White City, built of pale volcanic stone beneath three snow-capped volcanoes, and visit the vast Santa Catalina Monastery. You travel into the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, staying in the small town of Chivay, and watch Andean condors soar on the thermals at the Cruz del Condor viewpoint.

On Lake Titicaca, believed by the Incas to be the birthplace of the sun, a full-day excursion visits the floating Uros Islands and Taquile Island. The Titicaca Train then carries you in Pullman-style carriages across the Altiplano to Cusco, the former Inca capital, for a tour of its cathedral and the Qorikancha sun temple. The Sacred Valley brings the market at Pisac and the fortress of Ollantaytambo, followed by the train to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the Lost City of the Incas.
Flying to Quito, you visit the Middle of the World monument on the equator and a rose plantation on the way to the Indigenous market town of Otavalo. The final part is a four-night Galápagos cruise, with landings on Mosquera Islet, Santiago and Rábida, Urbina Bay and Tagus Cove on Isabela, and Punta Espinosa on Fernandina, home to marine iguanas and flightless cormorants, before a visit to the giant tortoises of the Santa Cruz highlands and the flights home.
The physical rating is medium, with high altitude in southern Peru. This tour suits travellers who want to see Peru and the Galápagos thoroughly and in comfort, with every flight and transfer arranged from their front door.

What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
