Private pools are usually a room category, so check that you are booking the right room type. Most are plunge pools sized for two to four people, and many are unheated, which is perfect in summer but fresh in spring. In Elounda, private-pool villas often come with sea views; on the north coast, they are often part of all-inclusive resorts, which can be excellent value.
