Paphos, Limassol or Ayia Napa and Protaras?

Paphos and Coral Bay: history, harbour-side restaurants and the sandy beach at Coral Bay, close to Paphos airport. Limassol: a long seafront with smart beachfront resorts, between both airports. Ayia Napa and Protaras: the island’s best sandy beaches, with shallow, clear water that is perfect for children, reached via Larnaca. Protaras is quieter and more family-focused than Ayia Napa.

How we chose these hotels

We sell 117 hotels in Paphos, Limassol, Ayia Napa and Protaras. To build this list we started with the family-friendly hotels, excluding adults-only hotels, then read what our guests say: every hotel here is well rated on TripAdvisor. We spread our picks across different areas where we can, and we only include hotels you can book with us today as an ATOL-protected package with flights and transfers. Prices change daily, so use the search box at the end of this page for live availability, or ask a Travel Designer for a tailored shortlist.

When to go and getting there

Cyprus has a long season, from April to November. July and August are very hot, so many families prefer June, September or October half-term, when the sea is still around 25 °C. Flights to Paphos or Larnaca take around four and a half hours from the UK. Most hotels are 15 to 50 minutes from the airport.

Family days out in Cyprus

Visit the Paphos mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings, see Aphrodite’s Rock, take a glass-bottom boat from Ayia Napa or Protaras, spend a day at one of the island’s big waterparks, go on a jeep safari in the Troodos Mountains, and look for turtles at Lara Bay on the Akamas peninsula. The shallow water at Fig Tree Bay and Nissi Beach is perfect for little ones.
