Map & location
Georgioupolis, Crete (Chania Area), Greece
Eliros Mare sits on Crete’s north coast in Georgioupolis, between the Lefka Ori (White Mountains) and a sweeping turquoise bay. The hotel opens directly onto Kournas Beach – a long ribbon of sand and shingle washed by clear, shallow water that’s great for paddling and morning walks.
A short 100m stroll brings you to local shops, cafés and low-key bars, while the resort centre of Georgioupolis, with its waterfront tavernas and pretty river bridge, is just under 4km away. It’s an ideal base if you want a relaxed beach holiday with easy access to Cretan nature, gorges and traditional villages.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The hotel’s outdoor scene is all about easy-going beach life.
You’ll find two freshwater outdoor pools: a main pool with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and a separate children’s pool. Both generally operate between late April and late October, weather permitting.
Step beyond the pool terrace and you’re straight onto Kournas Beach – a long, family-friendly stretch where you can walk for miles along the shoreline. There’s a children’s pool area located close to the beach and plenty of space to lay out on hotel sunbeds or directly on the sand.
Water sports fans can tap into motorised options, scuba diving and snorkelling operated by an external company (local charges apply; availability can be seasonal and weather-dependent).
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness and activity facilities are surprisingly comprehensive for a mid-sized hotel.
The air-conditioned gym offers cardio machines, a free weights area and stretching zone, while the spa features a sauna, steam room and massage treatments for guests aged 18+ (extra charge; typically open 10:00–19:00 from late April to late October).
Daily activities range from aerobics, aqua aerobics and yoga to pilates, darts, petanque and table tennis, so you can be as active or relaxed as you like.
Frequent entertainment keeps the atmosphere upbeat in high season, with arts and crafts, small team games and family activities by day, and bingo, live music, DJs, professional shows, quizzes and a mini-disco in the evenings.
Practical extras include a 24-hour style reception area with concierge service, luggage storage and baby equipment for hire such as bottle warmers and pushchairs (subject to availability, local charges may apply).

Food & drink
Food is a strong point at Eliros Mare, with two buffet restaurants and three bars giving you plenty of variety:
Bay Main Restaurant is the hotel’s heart, serving buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner with show cooking in the evenings and a mix of Greek and international dishes.
Sea Star Beach Restaurant sits just above the sand, with buffets for lunch and dinner on selected dates, plus snacks – perfect for lazy beach days.
For drinks, choose between the light-filled Moon Shell Main Bar in the lobby, the laid-back Tulip Shell Pool Bar and the Sea Star Beach Bar that keeps you refreshed between sea dips.
A smart dress code may apply in the restaurants (no beachwear), and some venues or services may require reservations or carry a supplement depending on the board basis. Opening dates and times can vary by season.
If you opt for All Inclusive, you’ll enjoy buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, buffet dinners at Sea Star on selected dates (reservation required), snacks for at least three hours daily, and a selection of local and some international branded drinks served for a minimum of 12 hours per day.
