Facilities
Pool & outdoors
You’ve got four distinct water worlds to choose from here, each with its own mood.
The main outdoor freshwater pool comes with a separate children’s section, Balinese beds, parasols and a relaxed sunbathing area – inflatables and water toys are allowed, making it a hit with families. A second heated outdoor pool is set aside just for adults, pairing calm, grown-up vibes with loungers and Balinese beds from late March through December. A third heated pool offers extra space to stretch out and swim in comfort, again with plenty of sunbeds and parasols.
When you’re ready to retreat inside, the spa’s indoor heated pool and whirlpool provide a cocoon-like escape, especially outside peak summer.
The nearest beach is around 7.1km away, so this is more of a countryside-golf and pool resort than a beachfront hotel. Down on the coast you’ll find a choice of sandy spots and marinas, plus a wide range of water sports run by an external company, from kayaking and pedalos to windsurfing and motorised options (charges apply, availability seasonal).
Spa, sports & wellness
The spa is a genuine highlight, with a thermal area featuring sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and whirlpool, alongside a menu of massages and beauty treatments for guests aged 16+. It’s open roughly 09:00–20:00, making it easy to fit a treatment around your tee time.
Golf is front and centre, with both an on-site golf course and clubhouse plus access to a championship course with off-site clubhouse. Reservations are required (minimum age 12), and you’re well-placed for some of the region’s most famous fairways.
The air-conditioned gym is impressive too, with cardio kit, free weights, fixed strength equipment, an aerobics studio, stretching zone and access to a sauna and steam room area. Fitness fans can join in with aerobics, athletics, basketball, volleyball, short tennis, table tennis and yoga, while rackets fans can take advantage of tennis and paddle courts (some activities at extra cost).
Cyclists are covered with bike hire and cycling tours (charges apply), and there’s even a cinema room for movie nights (extra charges may apply for some screenings).
Practical extras include a 24-hour reception with concierge, luggage storage, a shuttle bus, on-site mini-market and facilities for charging mobility scooters. Free pool towels are provided so you can pack light.

Food & drink
Dining at SO Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort Hotel is refreshingly upscale, with a focus on Andalusian flavours and quality ingredients rather than buffet excess.
Cortijo Santa Maria 1962 is the hotel’s signature spot, an atmospheric à la carte restaurant serving refined Spanish and local dishes for dinner. Open across most of the year, it’s the place for slow suppers and excellent wine.
Marxa takes things more casual with Spanish favourites and sharing plates for lunch and dinner during the warmer months – ideal after a round of golf or a lazy afternoon by the pool.
For all-day dining, Society Clubhouse overlooks the fairways and handles à la carte breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner with international options. Families are well catered for with highchairs, microwaves and a dedicated kids’ menu.
Evenings flow naturally into Ixo Tapas & Bar, a chic lounge bar perfect for tapas-style bites, creative cocktails and pre- or post-dinner drinks, while Rocio Garden Family Pool Bar and the main pool bar keep everyone refreshed with chilled drinks, light snacks and relaxed poolside lunches.
Smart dress codes may apply in some venues, and opening times or restaurant rotation can change seasonally. Reservations and supplements may be required depending on your board basis – always check the latest details in resort.
If you’re booked All Inclusive, expect an elevated experience with à la carte service and a curated drinks list rather than a basic buffet set-up. What All Inclusive typically includes.
