This 9-day small-group tour is a refined, unhurried journey through Jordan, combining its great sights with private experiences and some of the country's most distinctive places to stay. Groups have between 6 and 16 travellers aged 18 and over, with a named expert guide throughout and private vehicles. You stay eight nights: two at The House Boutique Suites in Amman, two at Hayat Zaman Hotel & Resort near Petra, one at Rum Reserve Resort in Wadi Rum, one at the pioneering Feynan Ecolodge in the Dana Biosphere Reserve and two at the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar on the Dead Sea. All breakfasts, six lunches and seven dinners are included, along with arrival and departure transfers and tips for local support staff.
Amman welcomes you with a reception and a private after-hours museum visit. In Jerash you walk beneath Hadrian's Arch and along the Cardo Maximus, share a home-cooked lunch with a local family and dine at a vineyard in the hills. At Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land, the resident priest talks about Christianity in Jordan and its spirit of coexistence.

In Petra you choose between the quieter Backdoor Trail with an archaeologist from Wadi Musa or the main trail with your guide. In Wadi Rum you can cycle across the sands or relax at the resort, where glass-roofed rooms open onto the night sky, and start the next day baking flatbread over the fire with a Bedouin family. At candlelit Feynan Ecolodge you choose how to greet the dawn: walking the ancient copper trails with a local guide or following a shepherd and his goats across the desert.
The final stay is two nights on the shore of the Dead Sea, with a free-choice day: explore the honey-coloured Ottoman town of As-Salt and its Harmony Trail, take part in a cultural experience, or simply float, swim and visit the spa.
The physical rating is medium, with walks on uneven ground in Petra. This trip suits travellers who want to see Jordan in style and depth, with local encounters and a choice of experiences along the way.
