Chile Top to Toe with Flights: Atacama to Patagonia – 14 Days
From the Atacama Desert to Patagonia's glaciers, with flights from the UK, internal flights and all meals included.
Tour overview
This 14-day escorted tour travels the whole length of Chile, from the driest desert on Earth to the glaciers of Patagonia, with international and domestic flights from the UK and every meal included. A national escort leads the group throughout, with local guides at each stop, and all sightseeing and entrance fees are covered. Groups are typically between 12 and 28 travellers, and you stay in comfortable three- and four-star hotels with private bathrooms, from a design hotel in Santiago to a lakeside resort with a heated pool in Puerto Varas.
After arriving in Santiago for a welcome dinner, you travel to the coast to explore Valparaíso, the colourful, bohemian port city that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the house of the poet Pablo Neruda, followed by a gourmet lunch at a winery in the Casablanca Valley. Santiago itself sits in a wide valley beneath the snow-capped Andes, and its old centre has fine colonial buildings.

A flight north takes you to Calama and the desert oasis of San Pedro de Atacama for three nights. You explore the eroded landscapes of the Moon and Death valleys, the Salar de Atacama, Chile's largest salt flat, with flamingos on the Chaxa lagoon, and the high-altitude Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons. An early start brings you to the El Tatio geysers at sunrise, followed by a picnic breakfast.
Next you fly south to Puerto Montt and the Lake District, staying in Puerto Varas on Lake Llanquihue, with an easy hike at the foot of the snow-capped Osorno volcano. A further flight takes you to Puerto Natales in Patagonia, where you sail along the Última Esperanza fjord to the Balmaceda Glacier and walk to the Serrano Glacier, and spend a full day in Torres del Paine National Park, watching for guanacos beneath its granite towers. You fly back to Santiago for a farewell dinner before the flight home.
The physical rating is low. This tour suits travellers who want to see Chile's great contrasts in one trip, with flights, meals and logistics all taken care of. Single rooms are available for a supplement.

What financial protection do I get?
Every Travelisto booking is 100% financially protected. Your money is held in a ring-fenced Trust account until you return from your trip, and we are members of the Protected Trust Services scheme (PTS 6035). Most tours also include ATOL protection where flights are part of the package.

How many people travel together?
Typically between 12 and 28 travellers, with a national escort.
When is the best time to visit?

Can you tailor the trip?
Yes — every escorted tour can be modified into a private tailor-made version with your own dates, adjusted pace, upgraded hotels and add-on extensions. Tell us what you'd like changed when you enquire and we'll quote it both ways so you can compare.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
If your international flight is part of your booking through us, we re-book at no cost. If you've booked flights separately, the tour's local team holds your transfer slot until you arrive. We strongly recommend a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes delay and cancellation cover.
Not quite the right fit? Make it tailor-made.
If this group tour doesn't match your ideal trip, our specialists will turn it into a private tailor-made journey — your own dates, your own pace, upgraded hotels where you want them, and the parts you don't love swapped out. Same destinations, just rebuilt around you.
