Half-term is one of the busiest weeks of the autumn, so book early for the best choice of family rooms and flight times. Check your school’s exact dates, as they vary between areas. If you can be flexible, flying on a Friday evening or a Sunday can make a difference to the price. For young children, shorter flights matter: Turkey and Morocco are around four hours, Cyprus four and a half, and the Canaries four to four and a half.
