My father has small cell lung cancer and we had 6 cycle of chemo and radiation therapy 3 months ago. However, we found one abnormal spot on his left central brainMRI on 10/31. His oncologist can not concluded whether it is infection or cancer. We just have another MRI yesterday and found that this abnormal spot has grown from 6mm x 5mm to 8mm x 8mm. In addition, there is another abnormal spot now found on the back toward right head (3mm x 3mm). We are very concerned and disappointed especially his oncologist said that the disease has no cure once it mets to the brain. My husband is diagnosed with stage IV nsc lung cancer with mets to kidney liver and lymph - as well has a large mass on his chest. He is is in his 3rd cycle of chemo - carboplatin and gemzar. He is experiencing an excruciating amount of pain in his shoulder, arm and upperback as well as facial and neck swelling. I need help with this please. Other than pain medication are there any suggestions to help us out with this.
