My mom was dx with Lung cancer last week. Today the results of her biopsy/pet scan showed that she has stage 4. Its in her lymph nodes, adreneline glands, spine and lungs. The largest tumor is a peach sized one that is wrapped around her bronchial tube. She starts radiation/chemo on Monday the 24th.Im beyond words right now. This came out of nowhere and Im looking for someone to be honest with me in terms of when its a stage 4 how long does someone have left? Im moving to CA with my 5 year old son in three weeks and this is just devestating news. Kenneth Watkin told the Champaign News-Gazette that, as a bonus, the technique appears to reduce the side effects of treatment. Watkin and a former graduate student, Michael McDonald, found that with tiny particles of gadolinium oxide, tumors show up more clearly on scans. I got a letter from my physician yesterday saying I have a small .5 nodule on my left lung.(they found with a ct scan) I am panicked. I called my doctor and they said to come in and get another ct scan in 6 months. Could this be something other than cancer? I recently got over mono, and I have smoked for 20 years.
