My father has been on tarceva and unfortunately it was not helpful. His tumor has grown. The doctor has put him on alimta and I was wondering if anyone has had any success using this drug to treat non small cell lung cancer.Thank you .......

Metastatic Lung Cancer Spread to Brain
Hello - My Father (68) was diagnosed with a brain tumor around Sept. 2005, finally, after doctors mis-diagnosed him as having 2 strokes. All of his symptoms pointed to a stroke. Memory loss, right side paralysis, etc... The one "key" symptom that was overlooked were his difficulty with his balance. The tumor was pressing on the "motor strip" of the brain, and that was what was causing his symptoms. Doctors successfully removed the tumor during surgery and then determined it to be cancerous. Prior to the surgery, they performed a chest x-ray, and saw several tumors in both lungs. They still have not been able to determine the type of cancer that he has.
