Corporate history is frequently fascinating to dip into and companies in the automotive industry - wherever you look - are a particularly rich source for those who like their history. And I'm not just talking about the automobiles; there's the social history too. I have in my possession a 'coffee table' book about Ford, published when it celebrated its centenary. It's one of those well produced books that documents the decades - with the cars - that is a pleasure to revisit every once in a while. But have you heard of Fordlandia? Set up in the 1920s, it was a little bit of America in the heart of the Amazon with the aim of getting Ford cheaper rubber. Didn't quite work out. Quite a tale...
